Correct Answer:
December 1-15 – 4 votes (16%)
First 4+ Inch Snowstorm – December 14

During the winters of 2011-12 and 2012-13, the first significant (4+ inch) snowstorm affected the area unusually early, in late October and early November, respectively. This year, however, has gone without an unseasonably early snowstorm. Multiple light snow events affected the region in early December; isolated totals near 4″ were observed on 12/10, but with more widespread 4+ inch totals south of the area. The first widespread 4+ inch event to affect the area occurred during December 14, when 4-8 inches of snow accumulated from NYC into northern NJ, SE NY and Connecticut.
